Have you ever had a zit? Yes, I’m talking about that annoying blemish that ruins your day. Maybe it’s small and painful, or maybe it’s gargantuan and confidence-breaking. The fact is that most of us get them at some point or another, but it’s clear we all hate them with a passion. No one wants a fat red bump on the tip of their nose.

Maybe it’s time to explore the options at hand. The cosmetic market these days certainly has a wide variety of potential solutions to offer. Or, are you one of those fed-up individuals who’ve tried it all and nothing seems to be getting the job done? Well, no worries; there are a few approaches you may have overlooked. For example, did you ever consider acne herbs?

Some of the big acne fighters gracing the markets these days are Proactive Solution and a deluge of drug store regimes. I don’t care if you’re searching for a cream, gel, toner, astringent, or cleanser; you will find it without a hassle. However, the trick is finding that ideal zit zapper that actually works. Maybe for you it’s acne herbs. The concept of oral blemish treatments is really not that new.

They start to believe that some so-called miracle system is the be-all end-all to the almighty pimple. Well, unfortunately this isn’t the case. While big selling blemish treatments will work for some, they won’t be so beneficial for others.

Are you sick and tired of smearing creams on your face that only end up drying it out, hence causing more breakouts? Well, if this sounds all too familiar, you may want to try a natural acne treatment like herbs. With natural herbs and vitamins you can fight acne from the inside and not destroy your delicate skin in the process. Let’s face it, you want your acne to be a distant memory; so what have you got to lose?

If you’re in the market for some quality acne herbs to help obliterate your complexion dilemma, it’s time to turn to cyberspace for answers. Online you will find a variety of acne herbs that vary in cost. You can sort through testimonials and reviews for a better understanding of the products. Myths Surrounding Acne

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

There are many myths that have grown up over the years about acne and here we look at just a few of the most common myths.

Your Diet Causes Acne.

It is often said that eating chocolate and high fat foods such as hamburgers, or drinking high sugar soda drinks can all cause acne. There is no truth in this and indeed there are no foods which are known to cause acne. This said, food can play a part in helping to clear up acne once it does arrive.

Food plays a vital role in your general health and that includes the health of your skin. So, eating a well balance, low-fat diet will not only help in terms of controlling such things as your weight, blood pressure and other things, but it will also help to keep your skin healthy and aid the process of treating acne.

Poor Hygiene Causes Acne.

Because acne arises when the pores of the skin become blocked, allowing a build-up of skin oil and dead skin cells which provides the breeding ground for acne bacteria, poor hygiene does play a minor role in the development of acne. However, the real problem is that it is often believed that the answer to this is regular and vigorous washing and this is a myth.

In fact, vigorous washing far from helping to cure acne will actually cause it spread and can very easily take a mild case of acne and turn it into a severe outbreak. The secret therefore once acne appears is to wash the affected area twice a day with a mild cleanser to clear away excess oil but otherwise to simply promote the natural health of the skin so that it can itself fight the condition.

Stress Causes Acne.

There is no evidence at to support the proposition that stress can cause acne. This said, people who suffer from clinical, severe and chronic stress are often found to be suffering from other medical condition and one or more of these may have an effect on acne. Simple day-to-day stress as most of us would describe it does not however lead to acne.

High Dose Acne Medication Can Knock The Problem On The Head Quickly.

Acne medication often comes in varying strengths and people tend to start with the highest dose in the belief that it will cure the problem faster than the same medication used in a lower dose. Not only is this a myth but it is also a dangerous myth as using acne medication at too high a dosage can make the problem worse rather than better.

It is often difficult to find the best acne medicine and you may have to try two or three before you find the medicine which works best for you. In all cases however you should always start with the lowest strength medicine and work your way up only if it is not working and you are not suffering any undue side-effects, including that of the medicine making the condition worse rather than better.

Solutions For Acne

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

If you’re like most of us, you’ve probably had a bout or two with acne. Any teenager can tell you that the anguish that goes with these nasty little bumps, is detrimental to one’s confidence. Fortunately we now have many solutions to this affliction.

If you are one of the 80% of human beings affected by acne, then you’ve probably toyed with one or many over the counter, drugstore products. Many of these treatments, while fighting the break-outs to a small extent, also cause dryness, redness, or itching. Then you’re stuck with additional problems. The key is to find out what products are right for you and your skin type.

Many acne fighting treatments available today are infused with active ingredients such as, salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Both of which are proven to fight acne. Whether you’re looking for a drying agent or an exfoliant should be considered prior to purchasing. Many topical acne creams contain benzoyl peroxide, which is a drying agent. The goal is to dry up the oil-ridden skin, therefore vanquishing the pimples. Salicylic acid, on the other hand, is an exfoliant. Exfoliants are designed to slough dead skin cells from the face or body, in order to unclog pores, hence relieving breakout. Several cleansers, toners, and pads are available with this active ingredient.

No matter what kind of acne you’re afflicted with, it is always good to consult a dermatologist prior to treatment. If you prefer, your dermatologist can also prescribe a medication, which may be better than an over-the-counter solution. Oral treatments are available in addition to topical creams and gels.

A popular acne product on the market today is Proactive Solution, which can be purchased online or possibly at your local shopping mall. Many devout users of this product swear by its effectiveness. If you watch television, you surely know what I’m talking about. If you are curious about this and virtually any other acne treatment, simply do an online search and you will be flooded with solutions to those stubborn, little bumps.

Whether you’re afflicted with teenage blackheads and whiteheads, or merely some bothersome mild acne as an adult, you can certainly find a solution to your skin problems. While acne affects most of us at one point or another in our hectic lives, whether it’s brought on by hormones or stress, we don’t have to just take it. Acne can be a horrible shot to anyone’s self-esteem, and should be dealt with before getting too severe.
